About the Author: Dr. Alan Frank Dr. Alan Frank is a career educator, he retired as chairman of the Department of Music at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. After retiring to San Luis Obispo, California, he and his wife, Barbara, developed a successful lecture series called "Wednesday Mornings for Music and Travel." They travel extensively and share a love of photography, art and duplicate bridge. Earlier In Dr. Frank's career he taught music in the elementary schools of Manville, New Jersey and he has taught in the junior and senior high schools in San Diego, California. Dr. Frank received his Doctorate in Music Education from the Teachers' College at Columbia University , in New York City. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio and a Master of Music Degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
