AN EXCELLENT AND FASCINATING LOOK INSIDE THE ICU …

Imagine that you (or a family member) have just been thrust into the Intensive Care Unit of the local hospital. You have no idea what to expect or what you need to ask. Why are all the alarms sounding? What are all these computer monitors? How do you navigate this strange world? Perhaps you are a nurse and have always been intrigued by the real life events of the ICU. This book will help you learn more about what really happens behind those curtains. What does the ICU nurse do in life and death situations? This book will also captivate those who enjoy reading and watching medical dramas. Share the author's experiences when the tables are turned and she, herself, becomes a patient.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:  Melody Stenrose RN, MSN, CCRN, has worked in a variety of intensive care units since 1980 where she has been a staff nurse, a charge nurse, a critical care educator, and a nursing supervisor.
